The Right Support Today Can Change Everything Tomorrow.

Expert guidance and support for parents navigating IEPs, 504s, and school hurdles

IEP Help, special education advocate

You know your child best — their strengths, their challenges, and what helps them thrive. I help you use that knowledge to unlock the right support at school under IDEA, the law that guarantees your child a free and appropriate public education.

As a certified special education advocate and experienced special education teacher, I guide families step by step through the school system — from early intervention and IEPs to 504 plans and beyond — so your child gets the supports and services they need to succeed.

Together, we make sure you understand your parental rights under IDEA and other laws, and when you sit at the table, I’m right beside you — helping you speak up with confidence and secure the most appropriate supports and services for your child’s education.

Your child deserves every opportunity to grow — and you don’t have to figure it out alone.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Deb Grimes, Parent of 10th Grader

"Alexa is THE best advocate to help parents get through all of the (at times) overwhelming information in IEP’s, triennials, etc. Alexa helped us navigate the worst IEP of our lives and thanks to her - despite what the school recommended in his IEP - gave us the support we needed to stand by what we thought was better for our son and he is exactly where WE KNEW he should be and he is a THRIVING student. Alexa understands, listens, explains, and guides you through these journeys. She’s been a teacher (one of my son’s best) so she has the knowledge and experience needed."

Brooke Smith, Parent of 3rd Grader

"We’ve been working with Alexa for a little while now, and I honestly can’t say enough good things. From day one, she’s been a calm, knowledgeable presence during some very stressful situations. Navigating IEP meetings and tricky school systems isn’t easy, especially when the team isn’t exactly cooperative—but Alexa handles it all with professionalism, persistence, and grace. She knows the law, how schools work, and most importantly, she knows how to advocate effectively without escalating things unnecessarily. It’s been such a relief having her in our corner. She is personable, makes the work feel like you are working with a life long friend-someone who is really on your child’s team. We’re really grateful for the support and are happy to keep working with her!"

Heather Barre, Parent of 2nd Grader

"Alexa has been a wonderful asset to getting my son the services he deserves at school. She’s knowledgeable, punctual, kind, and truly wants what’s best for our children. I have struggled with our district to get my child an IEP. I had outside reports, report cards showing little to no progress, and my child was over a year behind in school. The school wouldn’t budge on their stance. One meeting with Alexa and the school, and we made more progress in that hour than in the last two years. She knows what to ask them, asks the hard questions, and isn’t afraid to challenge them. We officially have an IEP, and we could not have done it without her!"

Lee Ann Ries, Lake Oswego School Psychologist

"The special education process can be stressful and emotional for both families and staff. I have worked with many advocates and attorneys during my 30-year career, and have not always had the most positive experience. Alexa is a true gem! She has boots-on-the-ground teaching experience, knows the law, and most importantly, is able to bring stakeholders together so the focus remains on what is truly best for the student. I was very impressed at how quickly she grasped the complexities of the situation, and how skilfully she managed to help everyone feel heard and supported. Alexa was instrumental in helping the team work towards a positive outcome. When I am asked for recommendations in the future, she will be first on the list!"

Nationally Certified School Psychologist, Portland Public Schools

"I really appreciate you and your questions. I've learned a lot throughout the process. Thank you for the work you do to ensure students meet their needs."

A Commitment to Families & School Districts

A Certified Special Education Advocate for Collaborative, Student-Centered Plans

At Alexa’s ABCS, our purpose is to help families truly understand the special education system and ensure every child’s rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are upheld and protected.

As a former special education teacher, I know firsthand that real progress happens when families, schools, and specialists work together. I bring that collaborative lens to every family I support — helping parents learn how to speak up, what to ask, and how to partner with their child’s team to create the best possible outcomes.

Every child deserves to do their very best — and that takes an entire team moving in the same direction. By building trust and clarity between families and schools, we create strong, individualized plans — IFSPs, IEPs, and 504 plans — that help each child thrive.

Collaboration is key. Together, we can make a difference.
